Our charity "KiGha - Kinder in Ghana e.V." supports children and young people in Africa.
We are looking for supporters, especially with our projects.
While most of our homepage is still in German only, this page can give you some overview in English about our charity. Feel free to contact us with any questions.
Our first project started in 2007 to support an orphanage and school near Accra in Ghana (thus the name of our charity). With our charity, both by donations and by sending volounteers to work and help on site, we helped constructing several buildings, connect the facility to drinkig water supply and helped to buy school equipment. During the course of the project, the number of students rose to up to 500, the number of orphans take care raised from 10 to ca. 60. We completed the project in 2009.
Our current project since 2010 is to support "Springboard, an youth education project in Kumbo/Cameroon, to provide school and professional education for girls and boys aged 15 years and older. Here they will be provided with the opportunities to learn job skills and English, Maths and German. We also support renovation of an Elementary School in Kumbo, where new roofing, flooring and sanitary facilities are needed to ensure safe lerning environments for kids and teachers.
